LEGACY PROJECTS
LEGACY PROJECTS
One of the major things people express at the end of life is, what does their life mean and how will they be remembered.
Legacy projects helps you go over your life. Tie up loose ends. Find the gifts you contributed with your life. Say the things you never said but wanted to. You have the opportunity to create a cherished memory for your loved ones with your legacy project. Were you a cook and want to create a collection of favorite recipes? A craftsman and want to create a box of favorite tools and the story behind them? Write letters to special people?
Whatever your wishes to be remembered by, can be created for your loved ones.
Would you like to do a project just for yourself? Something personal that helps you make sense of your life? Who am I and what was I here for? A legacy project can be designed just for you and your closure.
Pre-death needs
Maybe you just came from a doctor visit and received news about your health. Maybe you witnessed a friend or family member pass and the problems that were encountered. Maybe you are a person that likes to have a plan with things in order.
No matter what brought you here, know you are covered and peace of mind is here.
Together we will explore questions and find solutions before the problem arises. Do you have family who will sit with you? What space could you alter in your home for your care? Where do you get the equipment you need such as hospital bed, oxygen, shower chair etc.
What would you like to integrate for your physical, mental and spiritual care?
Did you know massage therapy is effective for stress, sleeplessness and pain management and is available right up to the end?
That dying doesn’t have to be unknown and fearful?
End of life services can help you know what is happening, provide a safe environment for you to openly talk about what you're going through and that it is a natural part of being human.
Post-death needs.
What happens when you die at home?
Not so long ago it was common to spend your final days at home. The family took care of the body and the funeral was done at home. Modern medicine became the new method and death in a hospital or nursing home became the new standard. Over the last 20 years, the trend has been hospice at home. My experience with hospice post-death was, call the funeral home immediately and a quick sponge bath for the patient before the funeral home arrived.
With Death Doula services, we take it back to the family and give you time for closure.
Did you know you can keep your loved one home to have time to say your good-byes or wait until family arrives to say their good-byes?
You can bathe your loved one for that last act of loving care?
In most states you can have a death vigil and even the funeral at home if you wish.
The post-death period does not have to be rushed or stressful when you know what to expect and what options are available.
Taking the time right after death to create memories of peace and comfort are priceless for you and your loved one who passed.
What would you and your family choose for your moments after death?
Family care post-death can be challenging. If a plan is in place before the time comes, everything will flow more smoothly. Everyone knows their roles and how things will be done. This leaves no room for arguing. The wishes of the departed are known to all involved.
What to do with the personal belongings. Who gets what. All these things will have already been discussed and a plan in place.
Coping strategies for the caregivers and loved ones such as yoga, meditation, breath work, massage therapy, deep listening and more are available.

“to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.”
